This site was started to fulfill two aims. First, to provide a space to share some information, adventures, and ideas regarding stand up paddleboarding. Second, as a space to explore a more creative activity.
The blog posts are a collection of paddles, pending plans, links to cartographic locations, informational tips, links to other sites, and resources that are helpful to build SUP knowledge, interspersed with the occasional hot take.
I was born and raised in Squamish, British Columbia, but now reside in Vancouver. Despite growing up in a mecca location of potential paddlesports, I was a late-comer to paddleboarding.
My parents emigrated to Canada via Belgium and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Family hiking and camping activities instilled in me respect and reverence for the natural world. A teenage love of basketball temporarily tapered my outdoor adventuring. As my basketball career dwindled post-university, my love of the outdoors was resurrected. Presently, my hobby is paddleboarding, and I am spending much of my free time pursuing this newfound passion.
